Covid Vaccination

Covid Boosters

COVID-19 vaccination is an important part of protecting yourself if you're at increased risk from COVID-19.

All seasonal covid boosters for patients at Wakering Medical Centre take place at Puzey Practice in Rochford.

COVID-19 vaccines are normally given seasonally, but some people with a severely weakened immune system may need additional protection at other times. This may be because of a health condition or medical treatment. The NHS will contact you if your NHS record suggests you may be eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine.

You may be offered a spring COVID-19 vaccine from April 2024 if you:

  • are aged 75 years old or over
  • live in a care home for older adults
  • are aged 6 months old or over and have a weakened immune system

Housebound patients will be contacted by Puzey if they have been visited before by them for a Covid vaccine. If you are newly housebound, please let us know so that we can update your record and contact Puzey to get a home visit arranged for you.

When available, there will be different ways to get a seasonal COVID-19 vaccine:

  • booking online
  • going to a walk in COVID-19 vaccination site
  • through a local NHS service, such as a GP surgery
  • through your care home

Covid Vaccine Passport

nhs app

Did you know you can access your COVID-19 vaccination status through the free NHS App?

Please do not contact your GP surgery about your COVID-19 vaccination status. GPs cannot provide letters showing your COVID-19 vaccination status.

Countries will decide whether they require proof of Covid vaccination for entry, and it is the traveller’s responsibility to check individual requirements.

If needed, people in England who have both vaccine doses will be able to demonstrate their Covid vaccination status via the NHS App from 17 May. Those without access to the app can request a letter from the NHS proving their vaccination status by calling 119.

The NHS has started the first phase of the COVID-19 vaccination programme. When it is the right time for you to receive your vaccine, you will receive an invitation to come forward.

Please do not contact the NHS to get an appointment until you are contacted.

Vaccinations are being delivered according to priority groups identified by the Joint Committee of Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI).

Ours are taking place at the Puzey Practice in Rochford.

We know lots of people will be eager to get protected but we are asking people not to contact us to get an appointment as you will not be able to get one until you are contacted. This is due to there only being a limited number of vaccines delivered at one time and then these have to be split across 4 practices so we asking everyone to please be patient.

The appointments are being co-ordinated by the Puzey Practice and not by us at Wakering Medical Centre and so we are therefore unable to book any appointments for these so please do not contact the surgery to try and book an appointment.

There is a new dedicated Essex Covid-19 vaccination website that has gone live that includes all the latest information and FAQs about the Covid Vaccine.

You can find it if you either click the picture above or follow this link.
